If you’ve been following this year’s Giro, you know it’s been marked with lots of bad weather, crashes, and a lot of rider drama.  But there have been years with even more craziness, such as the 1988 Giro.  Some would argue that '88 is legendary.  And it is the first year since the Giro started in 1908 that an American won La Maglia Rosa.

For anyone who subscribes to Global Cycling Network+, a documentary on the ‘88 Giro will drop this Sunday, May 21.
